Meet Our Trainers
This is a small selection of people that regularly give up their time in order to help others learn. Between them there are hundreds of years of dog training experience, both in the shooting field, working tests and field trials. We are privileged to have trainers that are training dogs competing in the top echelons of our sport.
Steve Pleasance
Steve has been training gundogs for over twenty years, from competing in and judging field trials as an A Panel judge, rough shooting and running in working tests, there isn't a lot Steve hasn't done with his HPRs.
Steve can regularly be found working his dog, with his gun and his friends throughout the UK.
Adam Snare
Owner of Mearecastle Gundogs, Adam is a professional gundog trainer, he has had great success training HPR's and Labradors, including competing in The England Retriever Team alongside some of the most experienced dog handlers in the country.
Adam not only loves field trials, but enjoys working his dogs within country sports as well.
James Child
A country lad through and through, James has helped hundreds of dogs and handlers progress themselves and their dogs.
James continues to help handlers with many of their firsts.
His thoughtful approach to training continues to help our club members achieve their training goals.
Charlie Grewcock
A keen rough shooter and deer stalker, Charlie trains his dogs to be true versatile gundogs. He loves hunting his dogs and takes great pleasure imparting his knowledge on running fast paced hard hunting dogs.
Charlie has competed his dogs to great success and continues to help drive the sport forwards, pioneering the recent St Hubertus competition in the UK
Hari Lampart
From picking up to competing at the HPR champs, Hari does it all.
Her dedication to training her dogs ensures we continue to see good strong hunting dogs in the shooting field.
When Hari isn't running her own dogs, she helps train handlers, judging field trials and also does most of the Treasurer's work as well.
Hari can be reached between the months of February to August.
Tristan Gale
Most of his childhood spent in the countryside, Tristan loves nothing more than a day out with his dog and gun. Having been training gundogs (and a variety of other animals) for over two decades, he brings a different approach to problem solving.
Tristan has represented Team GB with his GLP Ivy, and from September to February will unlikely answer emails due to lack of reception in the shooting field!
Tom Warner
From field trials and rough shooting, Tom is also a keen shot and can often be found shooting over his dogs.
His calm demeanour when training has helped lots of the clubs handlers progress at a speed they can be comfortable with.
Tom has achieved success with his GWPs in the field trial arena.
Sara Jenkins
Running dual purposed gundogs, Sara has competed her dogs not only in the shooting field but also in the showing ring, with many awards on the shelf.
Sara has huge insight to the training of HPRs and many handlers have benefitted of her expertise.
From field trials to working test and rough shooting, Sara has many working strings to her bow.
Andrew Farley
Owner of Warrenby Gundogs, Andrew is another of our professional gundog trainers. Andrew trains a huge variety of working gundogs to a high level.
Andrew's wealth of knowledge not only of dogs but also game, helps him provide fantastic training to handlers, many of whom progress to great success in competition.
