All Aged Field Trial held at Six Mile Bottom, Cambridge

Guns' Award Rhapsodie de la Riviere at Patouche (Brittany) handled by Jessica Frost

Norfolk and Suffolk HPR Club held their All Aged Field Trial at Six Mile Bottom yesterday. A clear morning with temperature climbing steadily. Not quite your typical autumn day.

Running a full card of twelve, the trial began on one hundred acres of sugar beat.  A prominent cheek wind, saw French partridge lifting up wind, whilst the lure of hare was strong, a combination that proved challenging for many.

Only one dog, the sole Brit handled by Jessica Frost producing shot quarry and the vote for Guns Award.

Four second runs saw more favourable conditions, with dogs running into wind, which delivered some standout hunting and textbook control. Judges opting to call Run 1 GLP Frances Smart and Run 5 GSP Andrew Farley for one last pass.

Run three, proved there was nothing more our handlers could do on the day to find better fortune.

Alas, no awards were given by Judges Mark Firmin (A Panel) and James Reavil (non panel). Despite this, all competitors remained upbeat.
